On May 25, OFA alumnus Estakio Hassan Beltran appeared on ABC’s hit show “THE VIEW” along with Congressman Dennis Cardoza (D-CA). The pair were interviewed by Barbara Walters for a six-minute segment in which they discussed issues of foster care and the plight of thousands of young adults aging out of the system.

Estakio received an OFA/Casey scholarship during all four years of his undergraduate career at Gonzaga University in Washington state. He graduated with a double major in Psychology and Communications in May 2005. He participated in OFA’s OLIVER Project in 2002 and worked as an intern on Capitol Hill through our Summer Internship Program in 2004. After graduation, he moved to Washington DC to work in the office of Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA); and most recently he has been serving as Special Assistant and Child Welfare Policy Advisor to Congressman Cardoza.
