WHEN YOU NEED TO SHOP FOR 2,000 KIDS. . .
All in a day’s work: on March 22, I had an unusual task to perform on the job: find gifts for 2,000 kids, all recipients in OFA’s upcoming Care Package initiative slated for April 28.
Luckily, we found the perfect place to go shopping, courtesy of the fine folks at A Greater Gift. Part of SERRV International, A Greater Gift is an amazing place situated in rural Maryland that sells handcrafts and products created by artisans around the world — and everything they do is based on principles of Fair Trade. (Basically, that means the craftspeople get a fair shake of profits and a chance to support themselves in a sustainable economy.)
Touring the wholesale gallery and warehouse at a Greater Gift (click on the thumbnail above), I was astonished by the quality, quantity and variety of what they offer. We settled on several very cool and unique little gifts, which will be sure to lend an international flair to the April care package.
